• Birth Classes

  • Summit Medical Center Birth Classes Since babies don't come with their own instructions, we have prepared several classes to help make sure you have the information you need before, during and after birth.. Our classes will provide up-to-date information, guidance and skills to increase your confidence in preparing and caring for your new born.

    We are currently in process of implementing a new, online registration system for our birth classes. In the meantime we thank you for your patience and ask that you call for class dates and registration.

    Please call 970-668-2875 for information and registration for the following birth classes:

    • Childbirth Classes (4-week class. $70 per couple, $35 single)

    • Childbirth Express Classes (1-day class. $70 per couple, $35 single)

    • Breastfeeding Classes (Free)

    • Breastfeeding Support Group (Free)

    • Infant CPR Classes ($10 per person)

    • New Mom's Brunch (Free)

    Instructor Profiles

    Mary Jo Foley RN, IBCLC, CCE, Doula

    Mary Jo has lived in Summit County for 28 years and has been teaching childbirth education for 22 years. She has two children and works as a RN Lactation Consultant at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center. Mary Jo is a member of Lamaze International and certified through ICEA and CAPPA. Mary Jo is also a certified Doula.

    Emily Shemroske RNC- OB, CCE

    Emily was born and raised in Colorado and has lived and worked in Summit County for the past 4 years as a RN in the OB department at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center. Emily has been a nurse for 10 years mostly in OB. Emily is certified in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing and is a certified childbirth educator through CAPPA. Emily is also a member of AWHONN and certified in advanced fetal monitoring. She is carrying on the family tradition from her mother who was also a childbirth educator!
