Pre-Employment Requirements

In keeping with our mission and core values, Summit Medical Center is dedicated to activities and services promoting health and wellness. Therefore, all associates must abide by applicable drug-related laws and must perform their responsibilities unencumbered by the improper possession, distribution, or use of drugs, narcotics, controlled substances, or alcohol. In all of the Centura Health facilities, it is our policy and practice that all new associates undergo a pre-employment drug screen urinalysis.

In addition, all associates given an offer of employment will be required to undergo a background check and pre-employment physical screening. The pre-employment physical will determine if the associate can meet the physical requirements of the position. In most cases this will require bending, lifting, stretching, etc. If the physical requirements are not met, accommodations may be made in certain situations if the position permits.

We also would like our candidates to be aware that all Centura Health facilities are now smoke-free and smoking is not allowed on campus grounds.
