Flight For Life Colorado
Look Up, You Might See Our Orange Helicopter - Colorado's First Air Medical Transport
Augmenting its emergency services, St. Anthony Summit Medical Center is the mountain base for Flight For Life Colorado, the nation's first civilian medical helicopter founded by St. Anthony Hospitals in 1972. Flight For Life Colorado provides 24/7 coverage with service from St. Anthony Summit Medical Center to St. Anthony Hospital, our Level I Trauma Center in Denver.
In addition, Flight For Life has a critical care ground ambulance staffed by flight nurses, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMT) to transport patients when weather conditions prevent air transport or when patients don't need the speed of the helicopter.
