Caring for Critically ill Patients.
Providing intensive care for patients with the most severe injuries and illnesses is a St. Anthony Hospitals’ strength, and one directly related to our internationally recognized trauma care capability. Care providers at all three St. Anthony Hospitals work closely to assure each patient the level of care his or her condition requires, and transport to St. Anthony Central and the Level I Trauma Center is available by Flight For Life Colorado from the mountains as well as the metro area.
Dedicated intensive care units address the highly specific needs of surgical, medical and cardiac patients, and care teams are highly trained to care for critically ill patients. Trauma surgeons and hospitalists oversee patient care. Surgical ICU nurses have several years of experience and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and TNCC within six months of hire.
Visitors are welcome to stay with their loved ones, 24 hours a day. Our ICU unit is equipped with pull out couches for family members to sleep on.
