St. Anthony Summit Medical Center Hangar Ready for Helicopter Move-in

Feb 20, 2007

FRISCO, CO, February 20, 2007…The St. Anthony Summit Medical Center Hagar is ready for the Flight For Life Colorado helicopter to move in.  On Wednesday, February 28, 2007 a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 12:30 pm.  Residents of Summit County are invited and welcome to attend.

The people of Flight For Life and St. Anthony Summit Medical Center are very grateful to the generous community donors who made this hangar possible.  Having the hangar means limiting the equipment’s exposure to harsh weather and, more importantly, minimizing the amount of time the helicopter is out of service due to clearing the build up of ice and snow from the rotor blades and windscreen.

The only hospital in Summit County, St. Anthony Summit Medical Center offers a full complement of hospital services including emergency services, imaging and diagnostics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and award-winning maternity care.

While the new 25-bed St. Anthony Hospital Summit Medical Center opened in December 2005, the organization has served the people of Summit County and surrounding areas since 1978 through surgery, maternity and emergency services offered at its former medical clinic location.  Summit Medical Center is part of St. Anthony Hospitals, a nationally recognized nonprofit health care organization that also operates hospitals in the Denver metro area and medical clinics in Granby, Winter Park, and Copper Mountain.

Sponsored by Catholic Health Initiatives, St. Anthony Hospitals is part of Centura Health, which operates 12 hospitals, seven senior residences, medical clinics and home care and hospice services across Colorado.
