About the Department:
The imaging department at SASMC operates 24/7/365 days a year and offers full imaging services using state of the art equipment. We perform around 20,000 procedures a year between the seven modalities: Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, CT, Diagnostic X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Echo (cardiac ultrasound), and most recently Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology in March 2011.
Imaging is staffed by 30 employees, including seasonal staff from November-April. All imaging technologists are experienced and licensed in their respective modalities. Ultrasound, mammography, MRI, and CT are also certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Outside of the hospital, the imaging staff also volunteers with the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Dancing With the Mountain Stars, USA Pro Cycling Challenge, 9Health Fair, and the Tubbs’ Romp to Stomp.
