Since arriving in Breckenridge in 1969, Patty has served on numerous Boards and Commissions in the county. From Carriage House Preschool to Breckenridge Elementary and Summit School District Accountability Committee, Breckenridge Arts Association, Backstage Theater and Breckenridge Ski Club, Patty expanded to statewide boards including The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, The ARCS Foundation and the Nature Conservancy Statewide Advisory Board.
After serving 6 years on The Summit Foundation Board of Directors, Patty left public service to establish, with her husband Robin, the Saddle Rock Society, a nonprofit foundation that has restored and opened The Barney Ford House Museum and The Tin Shop Guest Artist Facility. Patty led The Saddle Rock Society to develop a unique public partnership with the Town of Breckenridge, the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance, and the Friends of the Arts District to operate the museum, art studio and artist-in-residence program.
Patty and Robin, a fifth generation Breckenridge native, have made historic preservation of Breckenridge their life’s work. They have restored 15 historic buildings and preserved numerous others.
The Theobalds have one son, Robert, a Civil Engineer, who lives in Blue River with his wife Emilie, a teacher at Summit High School. They will welcome the 7th generation in March!
